A Heartwrenching Blog

A Heartwrenching Blog

I seldom cry. But when I started reading this blog, I just couldn’t help myself. A friend shared this on her Facebook, I knew it was going to be sad, but I didn’t expect it to be so heart wrenching. My tears just started flowing…..

My heart went out to the brave little baby who had to battle EB ( junctional epidermolysis bullosa) from birth. Any form of abrasion causes blisters and sores on the skin. The pain and sufferings that he had to go through was something that I could never have imagined. And his selfless mother who gave up everything to take care of him. For a mother whose life revolved around him, the loss was devastating.

In between reading and tearing, i had the impulse to drop everything, rush home to give my 2 little ones the biggest hugs possible. When I read stories like this on the net, all the more I feel grateful that I’ve been blessed with 2 healthy and adorable children.

My simplest wish is for them to grow up happy and healthy, create value for society. Not everyone can be a Mozart, a Picasso or an Einstein. As long as they are happy and bring joy to the people around them, that’s good enough.

Meet Tripp here.

Courtney writes beautifully from her heart. Before you start reading, you may want to find yourself a quiet corner. It will not be a good idea to read it while having your make up on…

People of Singapore

People of Singapore

People of Singapore – One Face at a Time.

How apt. I stumbled upon this blog when it was cross linked to one of my news tweets.

It’s a blog chronicling the lives of the people who are living in Singapore, from all walks of life.

Ignore all the happiness reports, boring people reports, wealth reports and other trashy reports out there that people like to quote, especially on the social media. This is the real Singapore. These are the people in flesh, forging their lives in Singapore. Real living people define Singapore, not absurd statistical figures from skewed reports that people take as gospel truth.

Ignore even the xenophobic, whiny, social media posts of the minority who make such a racquet that they are assumed to be the majority. (Empty vessels make the most noise. Sorry. Can’t resist taking a jibe at them. Losers!!)

This is the real Singapore, with a face and a heart.

Blog Pai Liao

Blog Pai Liao

I don’t know what I did. My “itchy fingers” clicked on a theme to try it out. Now everything has gone haywire. It’s going to take a long while for a tech noob like me to fix it. Sigh…..

Please bear with me. >.<

(P.S. unless some kind soul can volunteer to fix it for me??)

House of Moks

House of Moks

I found a referrer to my blog on my stats list today. Curious, I clicked on the link to check it out.

It led me to this blog – House of Moks.

I haven’t seen this friend since I left university. And now he has 4 children! Well done Mok!! You are helping Singapore with our TFR! I truly respect you and your wife. I’m barely coping with two…

The wonders of the Internet. Bridging people across the world and years. :)

*Update* 5 Aug 2016

Unfortunately the blog has been privatised by the owner.  So the link doesn’t work anymore.  What a pity!

Motivated!!!

Motivated!!!

I love it! I love it! I love it! Every time I add a new post, readership shoots up! This is surely motivation to write about more interesting stuff and of course more often?? It feels more satisfying than working!!

Should I *”fry my boss cuttlefish“?? So tempting! And recently 宝贝 has been begging me not to work but spend more time with her. She’s been sticking to me like super glue on
my short stints at home during her waking hours.

But but blogging can’t bring in enough money (although so many people have been telling me to monetize my blog. But I simply don’t blog often enough for that). Sigh! Earth to Zhiwei! Earth to Zhiwei! Back to reality please!

Ok back to work….. Sighhhhh….

fry my boss cuttlefish – direct translation from Chinese 抄老板鱿鱼 = to sack my boss aka resign from my job.

Reorganisation

Reorganisation

Oh my!  I’m paying for my unsystematic organisation of my blogs.  No categories, no tags.  Now I’m painfully categorising them.  Keep it up Zhiwei! It’s a good start. Almost 300 posts! Not a lot for almost 9 years. But then again to click on every single one of them is killing good old moi!!

Ok. My new year resolution for the year of the little tiger cub is re-org 10 of them each day.  Now that wouldn’t be too daunting a task for me!!

After that I will re-org my room! And my shelves! And everything!!

I can hear some people sniggering out there! I will show ya!!!
