I don’t understand the teacher 90% of the time. The whole 围棋 lesson is conducted fully in Chinese and they have a lot of weird jargons like 扭羊头 and what nots… Ok lah. He’s forced to go through the lessons in Chinese, so hopefully, it would help with his grasp of the language.
7.30am (Only… Sigh…)
I did my 20 mins of swimming while they played catching or monkey or whatever in the pool. Then I was roped in to play Marco Polo, catching, piggy, one leg hop fight, monkey (a lot of animals here…practically the whole zoo).
We had the whole pool to ourselves until 9am when people started arriving to use it.
Ran home to avoid the crowd.
Only 9am. Shit… what else to do. 🤦🏻♀️

The whole family took turns to keep him occupied in the morning.
姐姐 played a few rounds of Chinese chess with him. It’s so hard to post pictures of the tween nowadays. She refuses to pose and when she does, she bans me from posting it on social media. Sigh.
Very aggressive play… ate up many of 姐姐‘s pieces…
姐姐 needed to do her psle revision. Passed him over to Daddy. They played so many rounds that he got sick of the traditional one.
“Eh! Your pieces are not set up properly!”
“Haha! I just invented a new way of playing. We can set it up any way we want to counter the opposite player.” Ok…. #playuntilnothingtoplay 🤦🏻♀️
It’s not even lunchtime yet. This is going to be a looooong day!
Late afternoon… (his usual gaming/tv time)
Reality has finally set in! Now he’s 生不如死！Feeling very Cham and sorry for himself. #repentance
He’s happy again. No computer gaming + no tv = play board game. He’s generally a very happy kid. Figuring that there’s no way around his punishment, he decided that he might as well keep himself happy playing games. He’s occupied until dinner time…
I predict that we will go through all the drama again tomorrow. Meanwhile, happy board gaming!

The good thing was… he dropped the idea of stopping lessons.
“Mommy, if I’m too busy, the first thing I want to stop is Yamaha.” “Aiya you only practise 5 mins every day. How much time will you save?? 5 mins??” “Nooo! I practise 15 mins every day ok! Not 5 mins!!!” “Ok lor. You save 15 mins every day. What would you do with this extra 15 mins?? Watch Netflix?? Anyway 15 mins a day can get you good results, what’s your problem huh?” “Ok ok. Don’t make me practise more than 15 mins!” 🙄

The kiddos are starting think that HBL is lots of fun! Morning exercise this morning was to play catching (me included) at the playground for 1 hour!! Tired die me!!! 😵
We owned the playground!! No one else was there! The rest of the kiddos were still in school.
The exercise area, on the other hand, was pretty crowded!! Virus 🦠 alert!!! 📣📣📣

HBL here we come!! 💪🏼 The kiddos used their last HBL schedules as a reference and did up their new timetables for this round. It’s much easier this time as they’ve done it before.
Time management is a life skill. Kind of liking this home schooling thingy as I can add on more extra stuff. 😈😈
We’ve done our 1h swimming this morning. Slightly behind schedule but we will catch up! I noticed that the kiddos added a lot of buffer in the planning. There are lots of food breaks. 🤔 And SOMEONE certainly doesn’t take 30 mins for piano practice. More like 5 mins. 😓

The first ePTM (parent teacher meeting) ever since he started primary school. We didn’t have one last year due to covid.

His Chinese teacher even said he’s the most responsible 小组长 and can be entrusted with everything. When I told them he made friends with the boy standing behind him while queueing for chicken rice, they were totally surprised!”
